Welcome to 2020!!

Welcome to 2020!!

Well, here it is, January. Well, mid January to be precise, the weather is miserable, we’re all poor and we’re on our health kicks, not the best month that’s for sure. WW3 has been thrown around, Royals straying from tradition; welcome to 2020!! One thing we know for sure though, The Low House is still here, and we’ll happily help you through these tough times.

🎉 We had a brilliant Christmas and New Year, with various events, parties and shindigs galore, lots of happy customers, excellent food, great beer, historical setting and pleasant atmosphere, what more could you need? This is most definitely a place you can come and enjoy the rest of January. 🎉

2019 was a pretty busy year for all at the Low House, and brought with it some change, however the pub you all know and love remains the same. May we all, collectively just say a MASSIVE thank you to you all, our wonderful customers for your continuing support, long may it last. We really wouldn’t be here without you all, and appreciate every one of you.

Upon reflection we’ve had some great times, from “High Summer” to the “Winter Warmer Weekend”; from comedy, to quizzes and poets, and who’s forgetting our round the world themed meals/evenings? We’ve had some great feedback from our customers (new and existing) and staff alike, we’ve tried to listen and this will hopefully show this coming year.

So, new year, new start and all that. We’ve got some exciting events coming up. Our first being “nearly” Burns Night on Friday the 24th of January, which we’re looking forward to hosting very soon. Watch this space for pictures and updates after the night, I’m sure Daniel and Sarah’s Haggis will be spectacular and their Cullen Skink, out of this world. Time to get your kilts on and practice your Scottish accents, you’re in for a real treat, only a couple of spaces left for the night so book NOW!!

The next event will be Valentine’s Day, pre booking is essential, the menu is available for you in the pub and on the website, however if you wish for more information don’t hesitate to get in contact with one of the team. Why not spend a lovely evening with us and your loved ones, enjoying some scrummy food and a bottle of wine or two? It’s a Friday this year so hopefully you’ll have the next day to recover, and if you fancy making a weekend of it, don’t forget we’ve got our cosy B&B rooms next door. Just bring your own rose petals and romance and you’re good to go…

Still attempting to work off the turkey and trimmings from Christmas? Don’t forget about “Kirks guided walks” the next one being Monday the 3rd February. These walks, even in this dreary weather are fabulous, they’re friendly, there’s some lovely sights on route and it’s a great way to get your steps in.

We’re still serving local produce, and dealing with smaller, local brewers too, so come and beat the January blues and have a pint in the settle, who knows, you might just enjoy yourselves.

Until next time!

🍻 Happy drinking! 🍻
