The Low House (also known as The Kings’ Head) is truly a pub like none you may have visited before. Nestled behind All Saints Church in the beautiful rural village of Laxfield, to call the Low House, Laxfield unique is an understatement.
Still mainly unaltered for over 400 years, this fine old C16 thatched pub has no bar but serves the beer straight from the casks in the Tap Room. The high backed settles and a warm open fire add to its appeal. The Card Room, the Farmers’ table, the settle and the other drinking and dining area, there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy this unique Suffolk pub.
Since we bought The Low House from Adnams in May 2018, the pub is now a Free House. Our focus is on providing fantastically kept real ales and a friendly welcome. The beers often include Adnams Bitter, Green Jack Golden Best and Earl Soham Victoria plus many more as we enjoy the freedom to choose what we (and you) like!
We provide delicious home cooked food and a selection of delicious, local and freshly cooked, bar snacks. Our prices are reasonable and our food is great – see our menu page for more details.
But why take our word for it? Come in and see us soon and come along to one of our ever expanding range of events! From pub quizzes to celebrity chefs; themed food evenings and music nights – there’s plenty every month to keep you coming back. Plus every Wednesday evening there’s Cribbage from 8pm. Why not give it a try? Everyone is welcome. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
