Since May 2018, the pub has been owned by The Low House CIC. A CIC is a Community Interest Company and is a “not for profit” entity. Our CIC is structured so that the Directors cannot receive renumeration from the company or benefit from it in any way. We pay for every pint we drink!
The purpose of the CIC is to ensure the continuation of the Low House as a Pub and an important asset to our community.
Any money generated must ploughed back into the business or gifted to other community ventures. Since 2018 we have used our profits to improve the fabric of the building that had been neglected in recent years. We have replaced windows and doors, re-roofed our accommodation building and re-decorated throughout. We have also, largely thanks for the Parish Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, replaced the ridge and cleaned and repaired the main coat work of our thatched roof.
