The Low House (also known as The Kings’ Head) is truly a pub like none you may have visited before. Nestled behind All Saints Church in the beautiful rural village of Laxfield, to call the Low House, Laxfield unique is an understatement.
Still mainly unaltered for over 400 years, this fine old C16 thatched pub has no bar but serves the beer straight from the casks in the Tap Room. The high backed settles and a warm open fire add to its appeal. The Card Room, the Farmers’ table, the settle and the other drinking and dining area, there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy this unique Suffolk pub.
Since we bought The Low House from Adnams in May 2018, the pub is now a Free House. Our focus is on providing fantastically kept real ales and a friendly welcome. The beers currently include Adnams Bitter, Green Jack Golden Best and Earl Soham Victoria.
We will soon be providing delicious home cooked food but for a while we have a selection of delicious, local and freshly cooked, bar snacks.
As our temporary sign says, please bear with us as we get everything in place, come and visit us and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
